Instructing a solicitor is one of the most important steps of your life and attending to individual needs is our aim, given that no two cases are ever the same. We adopt a sensitive and conciliatory approach, but where necessary we are steadfast in promoting clients' interests.
There are six qualifed solicitors in the department with over 80 years' combined experience, dealing exclusively with family matters. The firm does not employ "paralegals", and your case will, therefore, be dealt with by a qualified solicitor.
Instructions are welcome in not only the most straight-forward of cases, but also highly complex matters. In particular in 2007 the firm enjoyed a success in the House of Lords.
On receiving initial instructions a clear indication of costs will be given and the current level of costs can be readily obtained by telephone enquiry. Eligibility for Legal Aid will be assessed at first interview and during the course of the case if requested.
The department has solicitors who are trained in Collaborative Law, members of Resolution and a childcare practitioner who was a founder member of the Law Society Children Panel in 1985, dealing with Care proceedings.
We offer expertise in all areas including:
- Divorce
- Financial arrangements on separation and divorce
- Children disputes between parents and the rights of grandparents
- Care proceedings
- Pre-nuptial agreements and pre-civil partnership agreements
- Co-habitation agreements
- Injunctions
- Collaborative Law
