Rob started his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers in 1984 advising clients such as Ciba Geigy, Kunick plc and Provident Financial Group. After qualifying as a chartered accountant he moved to Kunick plc where he gained experience of company acquisitions, supply contract negotiations and general commercial and human resources management. Whilst at Kunick he set up and retained responsibility for the Group's offshore companies in the Isle of Man.
Rob has also held director level positions at Caudwell Communications and Minorplanet Systems plc. He has managed rights issues, moved companies from AIM to the Full List and dealt with several company disposals and acquisitions both in the UK and overseas. Rob has experience of managing a major employee redundancy programme across the UK.
Rob's corporate roles have included Group Finance Director, Company Secretary, European Finance Director and Chief Executive Officer. In addition he also has experience as Partner of a small construction firm.
Since deciding to qualify as a lawyer, Rob has worked at Eversheds LLP in Leeds, where he has gained experience of Corporate, Restructuring (Insolvency) and Employment.
Here at Armitage Sykes Rob is involved in a full range of Company Commercial work including the sale and purchase of companies and businesses, commercial contracts and commercial disputes. He also acts for insolvency practitioners in dealing with such matters as sales of businesses by administrators. Additionally, Rob undertakes a significant amount of employment work and has experience of acting for both employer and employee.
Rob lives in Huddersfield. He is a keen sports man and a member of Huddersfield Lawn Tennis & Squash Club.
