The legal processes involved in selling a house are generally relatively straightforward, but it is nevertheless important to protect your interests throughout the transaction. We will:
-
Obtain and check your title deeds
-
Prepare and send a draft contract to the Buyer's Solicitors
-
We will (with your assistance) deal with any additional enquiries raised by the Buyer's Solicitors relating to your property
-
We will explain the effect and implications of the contract to you before you sign it, either at a face to face meeting or, if you prefer, in an explanatory letter
-
Exchange contracts - At this point the transaction becomes legally binding and the Completion/moving date is fixed
-
Obtain an up to date redemption figure for any mortgage
-
On the completion date, we redeem the mortgage and send the net proceeds of the sale to you (or put them towards the purchase of your new house).
